TBI + Blower?

Like the title says is it possible? I want more but I have so much invested in this TBI I hate to throw it out and start over. I was thinking a 471. Will my TBI support it? Or maybe a cyntrifical one.

Yes RBob I don't even have it running perfect yet and I want more. 330hp is cool but I want to smoke the new Camaro and not just the ones with 6cylinders.

I'd think a blow through centrifugal procharger Tyler would be best for TBI or a turbo setup ... Check out wynjammer

Re: TBI + Blower?

I'm reasonably certain one or more of the centrifugal supercharger companies made a kit to blow the TBI pickups.

No idea what was involved in terms of tuning chips, fuel pumps, injector swapping, etc. I could not justify it based on cost ($3K a dozen years ago comes to mind) so I don't remember details.

Later edit:

Web site does not inspire confidence.

ProCharger HO-Intercooled Supercharger System '88-'95 GM Truck/SUV TBI 7.4L w/No Air Pump : Amazon.com : Automotive ProCharger HO-Intercooled Supercharger System '88-'95 GM Truck/SUV TBI 7.4L w/No Air Pump : Amazon.com : Automotive
More in line with the pricing I'd have expected. Woof. $5K.

Re: TBI + Blower?

Well from my research it looks like it can't happen. I was thinking that I could just bolt it to the top like a carb.

I have an unrelated question. I have an AFPR in my TBI now set for 21.5/22 pounds. I know an external Vac reference adjustable reg. would work better. I know there's threads out there explaining these but if someone would mind telling me more about them and how to do it that would be great.

Re: TBI + Blower?

You would need to use a procharger or similar setup. Not a weiand that bolts on as the actual intake.

Re: TBI + Blower?

That's what I was thinking too. A suck through not a blow through. Tell me how to go about doing this. Is it going to scramble the EBL? I am just starting to get the tune rite. With the help of Rbob that is. A little 471 would be nice.
