Burnt TBI Fuel Injector Connectors
Just replaced the injector connectors on my recently acquired '91 TBI 305 L03 because I saw the plastic had warped. Didn't realize how bad they were til I found some good ones at the yard and decided to change them. Question is what would have caused this to happen? I want to try and prevent it from happening again. Thanks in advance.

Maybe rubbing against something? Looks like some areas where the bare wire is exposed. Hard to say if it was from the burning or it rubbed something and shorted out.

Back fire would cause that, probably while somebody was setting timing or something.
