HELP FIRST TIME TBI Owner

Hello I just purchased a 1991 camaro RS 305 V8 TBI. I see that the guy changed the valve covers, and air filter to edelbrock brand ones.I noticed the car canister solenoid tubing was broken (pic 1). Also i notices that one of the cars other tubing was broken, but was on the left side, i was wondering how to reroute the tubing to the tbi engine. Please any help is truly appreciated.

Re: HELP FIRST TIME TBI Owner

You could use long sections of vacuum hose to make the repairs.

Hey man welcome!! the 305 tbi is a little slow at first, but with some bolt ons she really wakes up!

The first pic is your evap canister, thats a vacuum line going to the front of your Throttle Body. If you have cracks all along you can just replace with a new line, any rubber hose will work, just make sure to get the same diameter size tubing(just bring the old one in with you when you go into your local autozone/oreiily's ect and they will easily help you out. If it is just bad in one spot you can easily fix with some electrical tape of your liking, i just did that one that exact vacuum line and its fine.

The second pic is your Heater valve majiggy ( i dont know the name of it) basically that line is for your heater when you turn it on it opens up your heater core plumbing to allow warm coolant to come in. You can do the same procedure on that vacuum line as well.

Hope this helps!!

Re: HELP FIRST TIME TBI Owner

Thanks for your help, going to go to the auto shop to look for the hose size. Thank you so much, both of you that replied. Does anyone know where there's the oil gauge switch switch, and the water temperature sensor? Im planning on putting aftermarket gauges on the car thanks.
