wont start with MAF unplugged

wont start with MAF unplugged

Hello i wanted to clean my intake with some intake cleaner but when i start the car and go to remove the hose at the TB the car stalls
Cant the car run without the MAF sensor pluged in?

I am assuming TPI?
It wont run without running with the MAF. You will have to remove the throttle body to clean it properly anyway. Get a new gasket.

Without the MAF the ECU doesn't see air coming into the engine so therefore it doesn't supply fuel.

I have ran tpi with the maf unplugged

it should not prevent it from starting.

Mine would just start and die with the MAF unplugged. My LT1 was the same way??
