Tos sensor code?

I'm trying to fix my 92 camaro rs with a 305 tbi motor and 5 spd. I was getting two codes which were tps sensor or iat sensor malfunction and rich condition! I unplugged the tps sensor and the car ran way better so figured that was my problem. I put the new sensor and it sisn't fix anything. The car acts like it has a bad ignition problem the higher you pull in the rpm's and doesn't want to go over 3500rpm. What should i do? People are telling me the ecm is bad but i heard that's pretty rare! Is there a way to check the wires to the tps sensor or the voltages andif so how would i do that. If you know of a link I would really appreciate it thanks!

what about the IAT, have you tested and remedied that issue? the tps and iat usually go hand in hand, when you adjust one you should readjust the other.

Re: Tos sensor code?

I took it to a shop and had him check on the tps sensor code. he said a wire pulled out the connector at the computer. Still runs like crap though I asked where i should go from there and he said fuel pressure and that sometimes people add washers under a spring inside the fuel pressure regulator. I took it apart and there were no washers but whatever it is, is causing it to run so rich it misfires I think? It is still better with the tps sensor unplugged. All I've done with the iat sensor is clean it with mass air flow sensor cleaner though. does anyone know how to check it off the top of there head?

I think people shim the regulator to make the spring stiffer, which raises fuel pressure at the injectors.

If you are correct, then you would not want to add a washer at the regulator, as more pressure may tend to make a rich condition worse.

Re: Tos sensor code?

I didnt add any washers and there weren't any either. There was a piece in the regulator housing that seemed adjustable. It looks factory but looks tampered with too. Is the factory regulator adjustable if you take it apart? or is mine aftermarket. It's the part that holds the spring in the regulator. If mine is aftermarket the adjuster screw is DESTROYED and would probably be my problem
