FPR Spring

Since I upgraded to a 97 L31 vortec engine, I was told I'd need to bump my fuel pressure regulator spring. Is this one a okay upgrade? It's like 20 psi to run it. So there's a 18 psi spring, and then a 28 psi spring, I think One is a little much, but I don't know. They're both 8 bucks so What should i go with?

Re: FPR Spring

I haven't done this but found an article on modifying the stock fpr to make it adjustable

Re: FPR Spring

I just breezed through it and it makes some sense. Definitely a slow patient percedure. Ill have to read it again tomorrow and maybe ill do that. Although turbocity doesnt sell tbi stuff anymore. So that is a challenge. .. :/

Re: FPR Spring

How would I exactly know what my fuel pressure would be at if i did it this way? Without having to take it off every time to adjust it?

Re: FPR Spring

You need something like this to check your fuel pressure

or this

Re: FPR Spring

After i were to purchase that, i'd only need the actual needle and gauge correct? That CFM tech one is nifty, allowing you to keep it on there running through the hardline, and keep the gauge on there. I'm gonna have to do this next paycheck.
Also. I think my fuel delivery at delivery, like when i apply throttle is well. when I turn it on, it just wants to die, like bent fuel line or not enough pressure. then after it warms up a little bit it will idle, but the idle jump from like 1200 to 500 a few times, then dies. Is that fuel pressure possibly?
