tps on 305 tbi
What up guys
I have a 88 rs with a 305 tbi 5 speed, I've had this car since high school but for a long time sat in storage because I had a 99 Z28 but I ended up selling the Z28 and I am now giving some much needed tlc to my rs
I drove the car from El Paso to Austin in May it was a long trip but made it made it, ever since i got it here is been running real bad. It idles rough and dies when i release the clutch into gear, i have to rev it close to 2500 rpm just to get it moving then once its going i cant give it any throttle or it bogs down
Im not a mechanic but do have some knowledge, i changed out the cables, cap and rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter, rebuild the tbi unit, and was about to replace the tps sensor when i ran into a problem
One of the bolts that holds the sensor snapped and now half of it is in there, crap! Im going to try a bolt extractor the ones you use with a drill but worse case scenerio ill go to the junkyard for another tbi
But my question is are all tbis the same? Reason i ask is because the new tps sensor is different than from my original one, the original one has the connector at a 90 degree angle and the new one is straight
The one i got is from autozone and it doesn't call out for any other one but one like my original is available for a holley tbi unit
Thanks in advance

I think all third gen TBIs had the flat connector, but you can always rewire for the newer style plug. Also you can't use the flat style TPS on the round style TPS TBI, or the other way around.
Here's a pic of the difference.

Thanks for the reply robotic_junky
Sorry I didn't reply but I was extremely busy with work
The tps I have looks like this one, is that the one that would go on a 350 tbi unit?

The style of the TPS and IAC looks like the ones Dodge trucks from 92-95 that had TBI.
I think Holley did use some Chrysler injectors and sensors on some of their units.
