this happens at least once a day when I'm driving my 91 rs the check engine light will come on and itll rev up to like 1500 for a couple seconds then go away. my engine light only comes in when it does that, could it be leaking injectors or something with the cruise control?

 

Check the code(s).
The tbi base gasket has been known to go bad & cause high idle problems.
