Speedo and tac help for ebl

Hi everyone I've got a vortec 350 and t56 swap in my 91 camaro. I have recently started to tune the car. I was told I can fix the speedo and tac through ebl. The speedo is probably 250% faster than it should be. The tach is also off by about 500 rpms I'm running the msd 6a box. Any help will be awesome thanks!!!

I have the same deal and I couldn'd do it. Through the EBL. But RBob is the one top ask.

The tach was a diod in the board and is a simple fix and is outlined hear in anouther section.

My speedo I just put the rite gear in the tranny for the gears in the rear end. That took a few tries but mine is dead on now.

I remember now you can tune the rite speedo in the EBL but it doesn't work the gauge. That is done with gearing. Well at least on my T5.

All I can say is good luck and if this fourm can't get you the answer there is no answer.

The EBL doesn't have anything to correct a tach that is off. See the Electronics board here, up in the sticky's is a tach fix thread (a resistor goes bad).

As for the speedometer, again, nothing in the EBL to fix the dash speedometer. The EBL ECM MPH value can be tweaked, but it won't fix the dash speedometer.

With this being a T56 it likely has a 40 tooth VSS trigger wheel. In this case can use a GM DRAC module or the Dakota Digital SGI-5 box to buffer the VSS signal. The buffered/corrected signals is then sent on to the dash, cruise control, and ECM.

Note that the EBL will control the reverse lockout solenoid on the T56. It is the TCC output on ECM pin A7.

RBob.

You need a Dakota digital SGI-5 for the speedo. I just did the t56 swap in my car. This takes maybe 10 minutes to wire in and worked great for me.

I went from a t5 to the t56 so it may be different but I believe it was the yellow one on my car. If you use a multimeter you can find which one is a ground really easy and then you know the other one is the signal wire.
