Idle surges after warmed up and CEL comes on

Hey all. I just got a 92 Z28 Camaro with a TBI 305 and automatic. The car runs great. It does have headers and a flow master muffler. After the car warms up, the check engine light comes on. When it idles, it surges a couple hundred rpm, but after you start moving its fine. I am thinking it is due to the new exhaust and not having all of the O2 sensors in the system, causing it to throw a code. Does this seem accurate? If so, is there a way to "fake" the system out with a new program in the ECU, or another way? I would appreciate the help and insight from others who have possibly seen this. I look forward to the communication!

"All" of the O2 sensors? How many are there supposed to be? How many are actually installed?

First guess, one O2 sensor required, one O2 sensor installed. But what do I know?

When was the last time that the cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, PCV valve and filter, air filter, fuel filter, ignition timing, and gas-tank venting (charcoal canister and plumbing) were verified good? What is the fuel pressure?

Put a scan-tool on that vehicle. All your answers are in the codes and data stream.
