Getting too much fuel

Still getting my intro to TBI tech, gotta question....I'm getting too much fuel and a high idle. I've eliminated any vacuum leaks,I'm wondering if there are any sensors that would cause this,or if I just need to put a rebuild on it? Any suggestions would be appreciated....thx

Re: Getting too much fuel

WHAT VEHICLE? Any codes?

HOW do you know you're getting "too much fuel"? What is the O2 sensor showing for voltage and cross-counts?

WHAT does your scan-tool show for actual idle speed and commanded idle speed? Does the IAC work properly?

Re: Getting too much fuel

I have yet to run any diagnostics, but I can see that 1 barrel is spewing fuel in,while the other seems to be a more normal flow...at start up,it idles at about 2000rpm....once it warms up,it only goes down to about 1500,1250 in gear. It's an 89 RS that I bought 3 months ago, still getting up to speed on TBI tech. I was a fulltime gearhead in the late 70's/early 80's,had to concentrate on work and wives and kids,so my engine knowledge is heavier in carburated motors,so I'm a little behind the curve on the TBI stuff. Figure this is a good place to ask questions....thx

Did you get an answer to this Joe? I am having the same issue...I can see gallons (jk) coming out of one injector the other is normal...I took it back to my parts store and we are trying again, but the replacement, both, seem to have a larger spray nozzle, parts store says "these are the only replacements"...am wondering what my next step is if it still sprays out too much fuel.

Re: Getting too much fuel

Haven't heard from anyone, thought about fuel pressure, but that wouldn't explain why it's only 1 jet spewing,my next step is to rebuild or replace, unless I hear some other suggestions, though hearing that's what you've done and still have the problem, may have to dig deeper?
