Fuel Pump Acdelco EP 241

I had my new fuel pump die after 250 miles. I ordered another one from summit over the phone and discussed that i needed a TBI pump when i spoke to them. I received the pump and installed it and the car runs great! But I occasionally get fuel burping out the filler next. Im in the process of diagnosing it but double checked my order and they sent me a Acdelco EP 241. Am I gonna run into issues using the pump? I was told it will blow out the regulator on the stock tbi unit cause this is a tpi pump. My motor is bone stock. Any help would be appreciated.

I just replaced mine with this pump a month ago and so far so good. I've used walbros in the past by thought again since they don't even warranty their product anymore.

That's good to know that yours is holding up. I'm just concerned cause I'd like to take this on a long trip but I don't want to risk causing harm if it is in fact too much pressure for the regulator. Your car is tbi?

Was tbi-converted to carb with a Mallory 4309 to bring the pressure down.

Re: Fuel Pump Acdelco EP 241

I used an EP241 on my TBI '88 K1500 back in 2011. Been working fine ever since. The only issue I had was that the fuel pump outlet of the original pump was 3/8, therefore the tubing of the fuel pump hanger was also 3/8. The outlet of the '241 is 5/16, which made getting the hose between the pump and hanger kind of interesting.

There is no truth to the rumor that it will "overpower" the TBI regulator. Many folks here have installed the high-pressure 241 on TBI vehicles. They say--although I'm not sure it's true--that the 241 has higher volume than the standard TBI pump. It certainly has higher pressure. Higher volume is debatable.

Fuel burping out the filler neck? I'd be looking at the tank venting including the charcoal canister.
