anyone need 1.6 AND 1.5 rockers
I cannot get a vendor to split-up the Proform Chromoly stamped, roller-tipped self-aligning sets of 16 rockers. I need 8 of 1.5 and 8 of 1.6 ratio.
My question is, does someone else here need the same??? ie, 8 of Proform P/N 66926c and 8 of P/N 66927C SELF-ALIGNING roller-tipped rocker arms, 1.5 and 1.6 ratio, respectively?
Like $130 for a set of 16. Eddie needie... in my case this combo will help a ZZ4 cam go from .475"/.510" lift to 505"/.510" lift, that is why I need them. They also reduce friction at the valve stem tip and reduce valve guide wear CONSIDERABLY as the lateral loading on the valve stem is reduced as a result of the reduced valve stem tip friction.
You only need them if your lift on the intake is too small OR if you have a single pattern camshaft (same intake/exhaust lift and/or duration) and youwant to help the usually-feeble exhaust ports out a little by running 1.5's on the intake and the 1.6s on the exhaust side.
Doesn't hurt to ask...

Fastbroker,
I have been thinking of doing a split on rockers. I currently have a set of Crower Stainless Steel full Roller and would like to upgrade the intakes to 1.6
Currently, my cam profile is a 212/218 488/495 with 112d LSA. The TFS 23d heads have a stall speed of .500" so I would like to maximize the intake side. If you are interested let me know. Th 1.5's I have have about 3000miles on them. BTW, they fit under the stock Xfire valvecover.

Are they SELF-ALIGNING??? I need self aligning...
If so, I am very interested. Call me at work Monday, tomorrow, i f you can between 9:30 and 11:00 Eastern, toll-free at 1-800-833-3405, Ed Hovan. I'd liek to maybe get the 1.6 Crowers to match???

Ed,
Let me know how you make out. One of the reasons I chose the Crower Stainless Steel rockers was because they would fit under the stock valve covers. Mine are perimeter bolt but with a slight pinch of the PCV valve area, the fit fine without hitting the oil drip casting.

Those Ebay Crowers ended in a seller ending the auction prematurely. Crank head.
When we spoke the other day, I neglected to tell you that when youa re checking your valve-to-piston clearance, you should install very weak "installed-height" valve springs wihch make the job easy to do with your fingers, aftre you go through the trouble of changing valve springs with the heads on,, that is.

Ed,
Thanks. I think I'll have plenty of room for clearance. And I'll be doing the intake side so that's less critical.

Ed,
Just checked with Summit. Crower sells half-sets of rockers so you can mix and match. I just picked up a set of 8 of the 1.6 Stainless Steel Full Rollers. $212

Ed,
I would have bought the CompCams ProMagnum if I hadn't already had a set of the Crower 1.5's. I bought them largely because I wanted to make sure they fit under the stock valve covers and that's what Gary Grimes recommended. I didn't want aluminum because of the fact they thrash themselves to death eventually. Good luck with the Comps. Looks like I'll have half a set of roller rockers to sell. I've also got a full set of CompCams
Magnum roller Tip 1.6 rockers that are in excellent shape.

I'm not big on Aluminum, either. Not long lasting.
These Comps are a new SA design, rebuildable and stainless. go to page 267 (??) of their online catalog and they actually have a picture of them at the botom of the page. That picture in the Comp catalog sold me. They were $320 everywhere else I checked. Hope they don't rip me off!!!!!!!!!!!
