1993 Caprice LTZ L05 runs rich, bogs, dies

Hello everyone.

My 1993 Caprice LTZ 350 TBI is running like a dog.

It will turn over, idle well and rev out nice... then when I put it in gear and try to drive... it bogs, smells like a lot of extra gas and starts to die. If I give it throttle very gradually... I can eventually get it up to speed.

I've replaced the ignition module, the injectors, spark plugs, cap, rotor, TPS...

Next on the list coolant temp sensor... IAC... but my mechanic said those seem to be working fine.

He says he's not pulling any codes... even though the SES light shows up. The SES light goes away once I get it up to speed.

I am really scratching my head at this one. This car ran really well at the end of last Fall. Now I have have taken it out of the garage again this Spring.. its running really bad now...

1. What is the fuel pressure?

2. What is the data stream showing when the scan tool is connected, and the engine acts up?

I am not sure of the answers to those questions. I'll have to ask him what he found on the scan tool...

Although I had replaced the injectors... he said one has a bad spray pattern and one has a good one. He thinks I got a bad injector from Rock Auto... so I ordered another to swap it out. He said he swapped it from side to side to verify that it was the injector and he said that the same one had a bunk spray pattern on both sides... so... we are going to try that next.

I would check voltage on the TPS as well.

Also, double check the injector O-Rings and the injector filter for anything out of the ordinary. Its not unheard of to not get them in quite right.
