stumbling at times

My 1988 Camaro RS 2.8 V6 173000 miles has developed an now and then problem, this popped up after getting it out of winter hibernation, it has
started "stumbling" at times mostly when in 45 to 50 range, let off on the
gas or increase gas it straightens out and run's normal. Act's like fuel problem
changed fuel filter, added "quality" injector cleaner ,seemed to help, but
didn't cure the issue. Any idea's what may cause this issue??
Bought this car back in in 92 with 50000 miles and never had anything
like this happen. Driven often over summer month's and on vacation, great
gas mileage 28 mpg around town 30 plus on highway, comfortable for long
hauls 750+ mile days when traveling common.
Any idea's be appreciated

Re: stumbling at times

When cars are sitting in storage it’s common to have condensation in the gas tank, especially if the tank wasn’t full. You could just be trying to burn water. Run a tank or two through it and see if it clears up.

If you need more help, you want to ask a moderator to move this to the tech / general engine section, or start a new thread there. This area is for throttle body injected 305 V8s.

You're welcome to post here, but people with V6 experience and answers may not pass through here.

I do not think that is the problem here. Been putting the car away for winter the same way for years, Always with full tank and fresh oil change, large plastic sheet on garage floor, concrete floor keep rust problem away, parked on 2x10 wood boards, light cover for dust,
Mothballs inside and under hood to keep rodents out.
Have put 3 tanks of fresh fuel in so far this season , this first time I have had any problem like this. Thanks for the reply.

Re: stumbling at times

So easy things first, plugs, cap, rotor should be replaced if aging. Second, O2 sensor verify function or replace if aging and due. These are maintenance items that can all cause drivability problems. Maybe even run some injector cleaner through it for good measure.

Next clarify 40-50 MPH? or 4k-5k RPM? Then check is fuel pressure during the event. Check the output from the TPS is correct and smooth.
