If this plugs into third gens it would make alot of tuning issues easier. Also from what I read this would allow you to run up to 8 low impedance or 4 high impedance injectors. ie 4 barrell holley tbi's or dual 2 barrel tbi's. something to think about. Don't know how much this ecu costs but the specs on it are pretty cool.

I've asked about that in the PROM board before, about 2 months ago. There is a guy on here with a blown TBI suburban who has one, don't know if he still posts or not. He said he can't imagine tuning EFI without it. I thought it was just too cool. They go for around $550-600 I think, plus you need a laptop. Not cheap but sure beats hit and miss PROM burning. Adjust ANYTHING while the car is running! I had this crazy Idea too.... since they make ECMs to control however many injectors you want (the plug in one wouldn't probably work for this though) that would sure be a good way to run a multi-TBI setup wouldn't it? Or use a Holley 4-bbl TBI. All kinds of possibilities. Too bad I can barely afford to insure and maintain mine, let alone modify on occasion.

i got an email back from them already. i can't believe it, a company that responds to email in less than a week!
here is the story:
1. it is supposed to drop in place of any gm computer with two connectors, one will be a 24pin and the other 32pin(jprevost, is this ours? i think it is, but i was never exactly one for computer tuning.)
2. you have to check to see if the pin out matches up and may have to move some wires around to get it to work right
3. it comes with software, a connector for your lap top, an instruction manual. no adaptors needed
4. it cost about $670 including shipping

i think it sounds like a good deal. i am gonna try to get hte pin outs for our ecm and their drop in unit. if they match up or it looks easy to switch i am thinking it is a good idea. tiem to go shopping fo ra laptop i guess

This info just in from Haltech:

The E6gm will work on 1986 to 1988 GM cars and some up to
1991. To be sure you should check your ECU to see if it has
2 plugs. One plug with 24 pins and one with 32 pins. Some
post 1988 cars have the 3 plug ECU. The E6gm includes no
harness, only the programming pigtail in included. If you
have the 2 plug style ECU, The plug on the E6gm in the same.
You will need to check the pin compatibility and move pins to
suite. The retail price is $698.00 not including a MAP sensor.
You will need a 1 bar MAP sensor for naturally asperated engines.
The 1 bar MAP sensor is $64.00, Your car may have one or it
will have a MAF sensor.
