So its a 1983 crossfire, i just did the head and intake gaskets on it adjusted the valves, swapped to Hedman shorty headers from ricks camaro they came without the air tubes, i had to weld in the o2 sensor bung, stock o2, removed the smog stuff and did a egr block off, im gonna get a new egr valve cause I was reading the crossfire can be temperamental without it.. but it wants to bog out real low and eventually die at idle sometimes it won't even stay idling unless I feather the gas, based on the stuff I did to it what can be the issue?? other that bad head gaskets before it ran and would stay running and im having trouble finding my issue.. any advice helps

check fuel pressure and also check for correct CTS ohm reading at the ECM plug(ohm reading will depend on the temp of the CTS) Also remove and reinstall fuses in underdash fuse panel to restore good connection.

I will check fuel pressure and fuses under the dash, can you give me a bit more details on how to check that ohm reading? Also I wanna note before taking the heads off, swapping headers and taking off the smog stuff including egr( I plan on putting a new egr on instead of block off plate) it ran fine it needed new gaskets but would have no problem staying on and idling Originally Posted by 8t2 z-chev

Adjusted the valves too tightly? Are you sure you can find zero lash on the lifter preload adjustment?
Ignition timing correct?
Connect a scan tool, look at the data stream.
Verify the fuel pressure.

I don't have a functional EGR valve on my crossfire. I run a hotter 190* thermostat with the understanding that the crossfire intake requires more heat to keep the fuel vaporized.
