Okay,
I just purchased a 96' LT1 cam from a guy on the camaroz28.com board. I have a 91 LO5 from a suburban. I also have a hydraulic Dana cam in it with 204/214" @ .50" with .420 and .442 lift. I am going to switch to the LT1 cam maybe this summer. I also have Comp Cam's 1.6 magnum roller tip rockers. What kind of performance gains will i get when switching to the LT1 cam? I plan on leaving my stock heads on the truck. I might pull them just to have them cleaned up and portmatched to my intake. What do you guys think? I don't wanna spend a $1000 dollars on heads. Also, will I have to do any ECM mods? I already have a AFPR on the TBI unit.

Don't bother taking off the heads for just port matching. The L05 heads are swril port heads and have a ridge in the intake port. Either plan on getting rid of that ridge and doing a pocket porting or just leave the heads where they are.
How much do you think it would cost to have that ridge removed?

Depends on the shop. Call around but I sugest not doing much to the swirl port heads. They aren't usually worth the effort. Better off getting vortec heads worked over for like $500 to accept the higher lift. Then just get a good intake.
