hello,im a bit stumped on this issue im having
1991 firebird auto trans. the vehicle will cold start and run fine until the engine is hot when at a redlight the vehicle will have a surging idle this happens with ac on and off sometimes will stall, will die if i restart with out adding throttle after restart vehicle will run fine in neutral or park when hot
replaced plugs
wires
cap and rotor
fuel filter
replaced tbi injector pod
even took off a hose on the tbi to induce a vacuum leak

 

Postings are harder to read when you "forget" to use punctuation and capital letters at the beginning of sentences.

Verify fuel pressure.

Connect a scan tool, verify every sensor, and the computer outputs. I'm thinking that by '92, you should be able to select an idle speed with the scan tool, and see if the computer can hold that speed (IAC test.)

 

Unplug the TCC from the brake switch and see if it goes away.

 

UPDATE ran engine until symptoms came back
while engine was running in park i unplugged the iac,issue went away no longer has surge.rpm sits at 700 in gear
