Hi, I have been having problems getting the TBI injectors to work. I put a fuel injectors signal noid tester on both and have no indication of pulse. These noids light up if a signal has been received which would activate the injector. Since the noids don’t light up I am presuming no signal is being received. Would I be correct to say that the PCM is the one that sends the signal to the injectors to actually inject fuel ? Or is there something else that controls the signal to the injectors to work? I have replaced the complete throttle body and injectors so working backwards. Thanks
Put a 9v battery across the injector pins and listen for a clicking sound every time you touch the pins. If so, you know that the injector is at least firing, but you are missing the signal from ECM otherwise, may be a bad ECM. GL
I would start by checking fuses. Next, I would check all the grounds at G118 (rear of RH cylinder head), body braided strap and G112 (Rear of LH cylinder head).
Should those be okay I would test for voltage at the injector plug on the white and red wire (note circuit is energized at run or start). Should you not have power then I'd start tracing power from there going through connector 207 which is located on the RH side behind the I/P near the ECM.
Should you have power present start ohming things out between the injectors to connectors C2, terminals D14 - D16 & C15 at the ECM.
As can be seen in the diagram above, injectors have battery voltage applied when ign.sw.is on and ECM grounds to fire-check voltage present when ignition on:if power is there, then check the ECM is getting power.
