My 91 rs TBI doesn't start right, please help
I've had this problem for like 6months now. It takes alot of cranks for my car to start. I notice the fuel doesn't come out right away, but once it does spit out, the car starts. Is this my fuel pump? I notice to if i'm low on oil and the pressure gets low, the car stalls. What can this be? I'm tired of getting out and spraying starting fluid. I changed my fuel filter already. I changed the fuel pump relay already. Please help a fellow TBI'er. Thank you.

sounds like a bad fuel pump relay. The oil pressure switch turns the pump once once the pressure builds. If the relay doesn't pull in the pump wont turn on until oil pressure builds up. Go to an auto wreckers and grab a GM fuel pump relay or you can buy a new one if you're that kind of person.

Try turning your ignition key to the on position for a couple of seconds before cranking it over and see if that shortens the starting time a little bit. The pump should prime for a few seconds before it shuts off if the engine isn't cranked over. If that doesn't help then you will probably have to replace your pump or relay.

try replacing the fuel filter, hitting the top of the fuel pump relay and lastly replacing the fuel pump
i had the same problem a new fuel pump fixed it
