geeze... three people I know all have tbi trucks.. ok this guy is running an '88 king cab long box chev... it had a 305 tbi.. he bought a 350 block and had the engine redone.. he's still having the same problems he had with the 305.. now I know he should probably change the injectors since they are 305... as for the ecm I sold him my superchip which was made for 350 so that should adjust the proper fuel curves... now it idles like crap and seems to actually be running rich.. smells gas pretty bad.. now the iac if he pulls it out and hooks it up with a&b shorted at the aldl the pintle flies out of the iac.. I dunno if this is normal?? the other thing I had noticed was that most of his vac lines where cracked.. he replaced them all and it still runs like crap... any ideas? it doesn't seem to throw any codes..

 

Does the 305 have the same sensors as the 350 and all the same hardware. Maybe you over looked something that is only meant to be ran in a 305? What exactly is the truck doing?

 

Did he change the knock sensor? Perhaps its picking up flase knock and retarding the timing a ton.

 

maybe its the wrong chip for his computer.
