serpent belt routing w/o air pump?
serpent belt routing w/o air pump?
i have the lo5 engine and i have been driving around for awhile. i have taken the stock exh. manifolds off and replaced them with some headman headers. i of course chopped the cat and every thing that has to do with emmisions, except o2, and other bullsh**.
the air pump isnt hooked up to any thing so its just taking drive power up. unless i can re route it to blow more air into the intake. hmmmm
well does any one have a diagram on the belt routing. or explain.
thanx

I don't want to just GIVE out the links considering they're on the tech articles page.
The smog pump doesn't take any power to turn, it's not like the 70's smog pumps. If there is a reason to remove it, it's because it's ugly and takes up space. It's also weight and we all know that the lighter the vehicle the faster.
As for routing the air into the intake, it won't work like a supercharger. It doesn't move enough air to even increase the flow of the intake at IDLE, let alone driving down the road or WOT.
