TBI to square bore manifold guys look here

This weekend I'm gonna be dropping in my Vortec headed 350 in place of my L03 and will be mounting a stock TBI unit on top of a Perfomer RPM manifold and just a little while ago when I set the unit on top of the manifold, I noticed that the overall width of both bores combined (from the far side of one bore to the far side of the other) is about a 1/8 inch wider then the monifold opening on each side. The blades open just fine because when wide open, the curve of them is just enough to clear. But my question is, should I just mill the flat edge of the manifold down a little, while still using good judgement and common sense? I just don't like the idea of a flat spot running perpendicular to the flow of air in the already inadequate 1 11/16 bores. Thanks for any help.

You could just take a file to it. Just take it easy and slow and you'll have good results.

Mount the plate on top and spray some lithium grease or someting down the opening. this will mark the area that need to be machined so that you don't take off too much. you should use some Dykem metal marking paint, actually, but most don't have it. I guess water-based kid paint would work fine as well, and is easily removable...

As suggested, go slow and easy as you cannot add the aluminum back after removal. Bad news. Adapter really is a nice and clean way to do it...
