My mind changes like the wind as far as
head selection. I was looking at the afr 180's
and was wondering if the 180 intake runner is
too large for the 305 (I know it must be milled
and smaller valves must be used)

Those were the heads that I was thinking about using in my mild 350 build up. I believe I may switch to the world sr torquers that have 171cc heads since the flow really good and at $600 less I don't think the AFR will yield me $600 worth of horsepower on my TBI system. I am not trying to push the TBI system to the limits of its capacity but more toward unleashing its potential.

The 171cc runner on the S/R torquers is a healthy amount of flow for a 305 and they can be easily opened up for more volume.
the Torquers suck!!
a 28 hp gain sucks!!
They would only be a bottle neck
to my performance.
If ported, who knows
I'm still thinking afr 180's tho.

And how much do the AFR's give you? Probably about the same, maybe a bit more. If you want all out performance, the Vortecs will give you more power than the AFR's
