question
i posted this in exhaust, but got no replies, hoped maybe one of you guys might know..
my cat is on with the muffler clamps, the U bolts with the lockdown.... i took em off and i cant seem to get the cat off.. my buddy says when the shops put em on, they put em on so tight it like creases where they go on... is there anything I can do to get it off without like cutting it n stuff?

me and my buddy tried for hours getting the car off. final solution die grinder with a cutting bit. we but the cat and bent up lips into it w/o disturbing the pipe it was on. BTW we were both pushing/pulling as hard as we could wtih no luch getting it off
I've tried before too...it doesn't come off. It rusts together and seems to fuse. If you are gutting it your best bet is to take it off the car (unbolt it from the headers and at the flange behind it) and ram a long screwdriver down it to break everything up. If you are trying to replace it, then cut it off, install the new one, and take it to a shop and pay 10 bucks to have it welded back together.

It fuses together from being so hot. I took mine off with the y pipe and had a shop heat it up and they took it right off. That was when I put the headers on so it all had to come down anyway though.
