i have a 89 camaro with a 305 tbi the car has only 40,000 miles on it. i have changed the plugs and the wires seem fine but i'm gonna change them tomarrow. plus i'm going to change the fuel filter tomarrow.

my question is that i am having trouble with the car when it is warmed up it seems to loose power and idle is real low @ 510 rpms. every once in a while mainly when it is cold it will die when first started but its nor hard to start back up.

i am looking for a site that could give me info were stuff is on the tbi and how to identifie it. maily like the regulator,IAC,TPS plus were the MAF is and how to clean it and the IAC.

any help would be great!!!!

well, 510 is pretty normal for warm idle... Most of that stuff is computer controlled...

(disclaimer: I'm just messin around i'm not trying to be a smartass. There really isn't one though.)

TBI is speed density, and so are most TPI cars as far as I know.
BTW about that start then dies then starts right back up easily, mine used to do that but hasn't for a long time. Don't know why it ever did, or why it stopped doing it. I didn't touch anything.

 

I have saved the bin for the stock 89 RS that I had. In the constants table it has a setting called "target idle a/c off). It comes set at 525 rpm. So...it's that low from the factory
