Flat Bottom vs Drop Base

Hey everyone!
I finally got rid of that #@$#$@#$ aggravating drop base for my air cleaner and went with a non drop base. Had to get a new stud, replaced that... got some 5/8" heater hose and a new breather and elbow connector to the bottom of the flat base.
What a difference! I thought the drop base was good, but wow!
I can already feel the difference with it.
Before I was using the drop base with the 1" spacer. Now the air goes more directly to the TBI unit.
Jon Prevost, if you can get in touch with me, contact me E-mail please. I tried sending you E-mail 3-4 times, but I guess you get flooded LOL. Send me one and we'll get in touch.
A semi in front of me threw a stone and now I have a grusome chip taken out of the front of my hood... I asked at the place I got it painted at and they said they would have to repaint the hood after fixing it. I'm really bummed out about it, but maybe my friend and I will be able to do something about it ourselves.
I think we can fix it pretty easy, it's just one of those things that you can't control when you're cruising at 65 MPH and a semi in front of you throws a rock and it hits inthe place where it hurts!
Oh well.
She's breathing nice, but I've been getting error 21 from my ECM. It happens usually at idle, and the car is idling around 1000 RPM in drive. I think with the air change, the computer might compensate better and hopefully that error will diminish to non-existence.
I'm still waiting to try that other chip ASAP to see if it clears things up.
I'm pretty certain that it will.
