1995 truck L05 was "5.7-liter with 200 hp and 310 lb.-ft. Both variations have a distinguished service record, dating their lineage to the original Chevy small-block V8 of 1955."

Car: 93 GM300 platforms
Engine: LO3, LO5
Transmission: MD8 x2
IMS there are several LO5s with TBI, and they vary slightly with the year and application:

1989-1990 LO5 (9C1 police Caprice only): 190 fwhp @ 4400 rpm and 290 fw ftlbs @ 2800 rpm.

1991-1993 LO5 (9C1 police Caprice only): 205 fwhp @ 4400 rpm and 300 fw ftlbs @ 2800 rpm.

1991-1993 LO5 (non-9C1 models of the Caprice, Roadmaster and Olds Custom Cruiser): 180 fwhp @ 4200 rpm and 300 fw ftlbs @ 2800 rpm.

C/K trucks, up to 1995 (L31 Vortec 350 replaced the LO5 in 1996): 210 fwhp @ 4400 and 310 fw ftlbs @ 2800 rpm.

The 9C1 versions got the L98 cam IIRC and hence more power, while the civilian models got the LO3 cam and less power but almost the same torque. The 9C1 also increased in power and torque from 1990 to 1991 due to better flowing cats.

I don't know how the truck LO5s differ *except* for lacking roller lifters. HTH. - Ken

Tas and kdrolt are right as far as I know. I remember right after I bought my truck L05 I found out that the Caprice L05 was essentially the same except it had a roller cam, and was only like $250-$300 more than the truck L05...DOH!

Good question..
I just swapped in an LO5 in my Camaro this weekend. Its a new LO5, Lt1 camshaft, Edelbrock manifold and TES, S-10 converter, 3.42 posi gears. Car runs great so far, seems to be much better than the LO3, but its not broken in (< 20 miles), so I cant push it at all yet. Im expecting 240-250 hp with this setup. Sound at all realistic?

I'm sure the LT1 cam, intake, and exhaust make 30-40 hp.

hey thanks for the info guys . I thought it made 220hp but as u guys say, i have the roadmaster non police version for 91-93. i didnt realize it only made 10 more hp than the lo3. not counting the tq increase ... Are u sure it used the same cam as the 305 i thought if i remeber seeing diffrent #s on the cam setup but again i could be wrong. anyways thanks guys its been so long and i want to see what i got before i start my mods.
