aftermarket ignition modules worth it??
aftermarket ignition modules worth it??
i see these things in all my catalogs made by a bunch of different companies, but are they really worth $40?? If so, which ones have you guys had luck with? thanx
not really. a few years ago a magazine, i forget which one, tested like 4 brands oof modules in a dyno comparo. the cheapie parts store stock replacement one made the most power. the funniest part was taht all of them stayed with in like 3hp of each and it was an engine dyno, if they really made a difference it would hafta show at the crank.

Don't waste your time on a module. Pick up a ignition system like the Accel 300+ or an MSD box. I just put an Accel 300+ on my "new to me" 91 RS Have had the car less than a week.
It provided quite an improvment in performance. My car actually cracks the tires from a stand still now with just this mod. Don't forget to regap your plugs and retard the timing abit.
