(new firebird owner) need to know how to get it faster

i just bought a firebird, im not used to these f-body cars, what is one of the first (cheap) things i should do to get my l03 movin faster?

any open element air filter, hooker exhaust ($260 for a mean catback!), remove the smog stuff, take out the rubber hood seal if you decide to go with an open element...

I just had my ultimate tbi mods done by Camaroracer1992@yahoo.com for 40 bucks and he did an awesome job. He added an injector spacer, did the adjustable fuel pressure regulator, shaved all the restrictive stuff off and cleaned it up VERY nicely. I was very impressed and can't wait to see the numbers I got from it. I needed it bad. Awesome cheap mod.
