Guys I got my car home!

Well after 3 weeks of waiting the guy got the title yesterday. So we went and got her this morning.

Well the problems so far a numerous.

The brakes are going to have to be redone. For now I am just going to rebuild the stock system.

It has a blown head gasket. That is no problem. We have about 50 small block gasket sets. And the lifters needed adjusted to.

It won't shift from 1st to 2nd at wot..

The motor seems to run good after about 2 grand. But I believe the carb is messed up.So I am going to get a cheapo eldelbrock performer intake and a holley 750 vacuam secondaries.

All I know is there is nothing like the feeling of my first car project in the driveway!

None yet.I plan on buying a good digital camera here is a couple weeks.(When money permits)So I can share some pics of the project.

I got some bad news.

I just did a compression test and well the engine is very sick.

MY dad said it should be around 120psi.2 of the cylinders where 115 and the other 6 where around 90.So this is not good.I guess the small block is going to be rebuilt before I thought.

Man there isn't much room in the engine comparment is there. The motor is pretty well wedged up in there.I bet getting out the bell housing bolts is going to be fun!

Actually, the bellhousing bolts are pretty easy if you have long extensions and a universal joint at the end.. I just dropped my transmission Sunday and the hardest part was the tranny cooler lines.
