Hi,
I am writing a big research paper for my advanced composition class and I need your opinions. The paper is about the best modifications for a third gen. firebird/camaro. the question is what are the best mods for a thirdgen and why.

Wow, this is going to be a long post.
First should be headers and cat-back, cause the stock manifolds/y-pipe are a joke.
Next, depending on which motor you have like the LG4 it needs a cam bad, along with either head work or new heads. Then you move on to the TC and gears which most came with 2:73s. Of course SFC should be among the top of your list since the strength of the frame isn't the strongest especially among TTop/convertible cars.
Um, then you can always talk about thermostats/radiator aluminum since these cars were designed to run warmer, helping the cooling system will help power.
The trannies aren't the best either the 700R4 is the strongest among them, but still can't handle good amounts of power (research the tranny board about the TransGo Reprogramming kit or PM transfixleo about it, I'm sure you could write a whole paper on his comments on it). The manual trannies are even weaker, not sure what to do there.

J/k I don't like N20 at all or any power adders really. But it would probably get a laugh or 2.

I'd say, put get up and say, first you need to get an aluminum wing, some stickers that say racing in Japanese, 2 huge chrome mufflers, and some 17" wheels, oh and a body kit. Cause everyone nowadays thinks that that's performance
IM 17 and currently a Jr... so ive done some papers recently...
Id just talk mostly of parts.. talk about stuff you can get for the susp. then talk about how to add a cam or get some headers...
really... just take a summit or jegs catalog up there with you.. flip through the pages "carbs.. the edelbrok 670 will increase.... blah blah blah.. then filp to another section...
jsut look through a summir/jegs... and write stuff down.. its that easy!

Oh wait, I'm on meth.
Uhh, for your car I'd start with SLP stainless headers.
Being in Mason/no emissions - a test pipe in place of the cat.
A good 3 inch exh.
A computer friendly roller cam.
Aftermarket intake (with injectors, etc.).
AFR 190 ish heads (depending on the cam and CID).
Suspension up the yang.
TIRES $$$$
BRAKES $$$$
Engine rebuild (383 or find a 400).
Tranny rebuild with the goodies and a shift kit.
10 bolt upgrades (tech articles here)/12 bolt/ or 9 inch Ford $$$.
Roll cage.
And insert re-burn your chip to every other line above or get a Haltech/MoTeC/Accel DFI/DTA/SDS/Electromotive TEC III
Or a good 4 barrel and intake (since we're in Iowa)
