Sludge Remover?

Sludge Remover?

I just pulled out my engine heads and it has tons of oil sludge on them. I tried using some degreaser but did not do much good. What is a good sludge remover? I heard deasel is good is this true?

Caustic soda; followed by Simple Green or SuperClean, brush, water, & elbow grease.

The caustic soda is also known as "tanking".
