i fired my gm crate up yesterday for the first time an let it run for 30 minutes to break it in. i then shut it down to cool off. fired it backup to check timing and for some reason, the timing marker on the balenser was way off the marker on the timing cover but it ran perfect. i tried moving the dist to get the mark to line up with 6 degrees but the engine wouldnt run there. so,,, i set it by ear.

today i sarted over and pulled dist, set engine at TDC and re installed dist and car wouldnt start. rotates but wont turn over. i pulled dist. like 3 times to see if maybe i put it in wrong but nothing helped. the dist is brand new it is a MSD pro billet. i even bought a new module for it today and nothing. what could i have done. how can i check to see if my blaster 2 coil is good still. i know i have no spark because i pulled the number 1 wire and put a screwdriver in it to see if a spark would jump to frame on startup and othing happened. any suggestions guys

 

you can do the same thing you did with the spark plug wire to the coil wire. just take the coil wire off the top of the distributor and put the screwdriver in and test it it works the same way just don't get shocked by the coil it hurts for a couple days.
