I just bought a 87 L98 for 700.00 bucks with aprox 80,000 miles on it. I want to put it in my car to replace the 120,000 mile 305 but I dont want to do a complete rebuild of the motor. Is this safe? I have no idea about the motors past[ie: abuse, or oil changes, etc]. But here is my real question... I want to put some aftermarket heads on but there are so many out there.. what do you guys recomend? I am retaining the tpi setup. I was also considering a used set of vortec's and a scoggin-dickey intake but that is only if a new set of heads is more than the used vortecs and the intake together. I hope i didnt confuse you guys too much. any help would be great thanks in advance
