What Mods for $1k?

I have some money from tax refund, Just wondering what I should do? Suspension, brakes, trans, engine, interier etc.
What do you think?
I have already done full exhaust, and have a shift kit ready to be installed. Also a new rear is a priority, just have to find one .

Chris

SFCs or cam. Both will make an incredible difference in your ride. Or maybe even a new stall converter. I hear up to 4 tenths in the 1/4 with about a 2200 stall on stock motor. Of course unless you have a manual gearbox.

This is assuming you have a 305TBI, I'd get gears or suspension modifications. The TC was a good idea too, but I'd hold off on that for now. I'd probably not get a cam this time, either, unless you're never gonna swap the motor out for something better. The idea I'm presenting is doing modifications that benefit you now, but will also carry over and benefit a bigger motor. Getting a cam or TC now that works good with the 305, could carry over, but might not be the best for a 350, and you'd have to buy the part twice (once for the 305, and once for the 350). Likewise, getting a good cam or TC for a 350 and running it on your 305 until then would suck in the meantime (even though you'd only have to buy it once).

If you're going to keep the 305, then a cam, or saving a little more and getting some sweet heads will make some noticable improvements as well as setting the stage for future modifications.

But I like a car that can handle and make short bursts of speed better than a car that can go *****-to-the-wall, but only in a straight line. That's why I concentrated on suspension mods first, with only occasional meaningless engine mods.

For suspension mods I was concidering the following:
SFC,LCA reloc brackets, LCA's, Panhard bar, maybe a Strut tower brace(I had the edel. 3-point one but had to sell it because it was for TPI and wouldn't clear my air cleaner.
I probably won't do a TQ arm bar in the case that I eventually do a T-56 swap.

I do have a 305TBI w/ 700R4, 2.72 one legger.

I'd say go with gears, especially if you plan on getting a T-56. Maybe a cam swap too, unless you plan on getting rid of the 305.
