Switching to synthetic oil causes problems?

Someone told me if you havent used synthetic oil in your car before and you do a oil change the coated oil parts and cylinder walls in your engine from the old oil will be desolved off or something like that. He is saying that it wont be lubricated properly if you do this and will cause your engine to wear out faster. WTF is that about sounds like a load of if you ask me. If anything I would thing it helps your engine. Can someone give me a second opinion on that?

Did you post this before? I remember someone asking the exact same thing a few weeks ago, and no that is bs. The only problems synthetic oil can cause are associated with engines that have a lot of sludge and old gaskets, which can cause leaks when the synthetic oil washes the crap away.

It sounds like BS. Don't waste 5 bucks a quart on it. How much more power do you think it will make in a 305 TBI. Not much. Save it for the 400.
