Performance Chip Question(Not this Again! :))
I know this topic has been discussed alot on this board but i'm going to ask a few questions. Getting and aftermarket chip or getting one burned by you or someone else. I wish i could burn one by myself but right now don't have the time or know how. So i'm considering of buying a chip from one of the other aftermarket companies. I've heard of Performance Resource Chip and I've heard the other popular one is Ed Wright at Fast chip. Some say that chips don't do a whole lot but in the article on perfomance chips on the website i think it was the Performance Resource chips that had knocked off .7tenths of a second on a basically stock 1991 Z28 305 auto camaro. Anyways my conclusion is that the Speed Density cars are more of need of a fuel/ignition remap because the MAF versions can calculate the incoming air more accurately where as the Speed Density uses changes in pressure in the intake manifold i do believe. The only other question i have is i'm having problems with the code 32 which i do believe is the EGR Valve Diagnostic. It only happens when i'm on the freeway constantly driving but on the streets it usually doesn't come on. I'm wondering if there is any companies that can erase the diagnostic in the chip so the code won't come on. I heard on this board somewhere that it is possible? Also will it have an effect on driveability? Anyone like to reply give me your .02 on this topic. Later.
