Valve springs
Valve springs
I have a set of valve springs rated at 400# an inch, which is a pretty heavily progressive spring, my assembled height is 1.770 Unshimmed (how it'll be ran) I'll be lifting about .512. I come up with 90# on the seat, and 290# at lift, the 290# isn't bad, will even give me a safety buffer for over rev (somewhat) However 90# at seat seems light? I think recommended is around 120, Considering they dont float at the seat and its a hefty Lb/inch rating I'm currious if the 90# should be any concern or not?
maybe im being over cautious but still, what do you guys think about 90# on the seat for a flat tappet hydraulic lifter pushing 2.02/1.60's

What's a flat tappet cam????

I am not sure if that will fly.... With that style of lifter you really want to be as close to dead on with the spring pressure as you can be to ensure long cam life... But I am by no means an expert on it.
There. I took a shot (missed)....
