You're TV cable might be misadjusted causing early shifts. Does it happen even when you don't powerbrake.

What do you mean overheated sometimes? what temp.?

Shouldn't let your car overheat man. I would check your thermostat and check your water level. Also check if your fans are turning on. Let the car idle and let it warm up at around 220 degrees or so the fan should kick on if it doesn't then probably your fan coolant switch will probably need to be replaced. All you have to do is disconnect the wire to the switch and ground it and the fans should kick on. Maybe you got a clogged convertor thats why it won't your rpm's won't go so high. I would check that. Excessive backpressure probably. Just a quess though.

What engine do you have? Some info like that is useful.

True, but I think a lot of people who don't know 3rdGens very well, don't know that these cars were designed to run a little on the warm side, so in fact he might not be overheating.

The engines run hotter for emissions purposes. You dont want it to run hot, that robs power. If your on a completly stock motor, and your trying to sit there and do burnouts..........maybe that has something to do with the problems your having.

The engines temp shouldn't have anything to do with the way the car is shifting.

Try the tv cable adjustment and get back to us.

and if i do the burnout rpm wont pass 4k if im pressing the gass all the way

how i replace the fans or how can i know if its ok i know its not runnig cuz i drove for like 20 min then i opened the front and 1 fans was running not 2 and should i get a 180,160 stat?

If I'm not mistaken the 2nd fan should come on with the AC or when the temps reach 220*.
I would not be driving that car running 260* that's reaching dangerous temps.
I'd get a 180* stat and fix that other fan.

The second fan is for the ac. It sounds like a clogged cat. The same thing happened to me. The car would drop on its face if I tried to floor it. I couldnt get over 3500. This also causes a surplus of hot exhaust that heats up the engine. Try removing the cat and see if it fixes the problem. Good luck

Tune-up maybe? I would check the easy stuff before I start dismanteling the exhaust....if you must, smack the cat with a rubber hammer, do you hear stuff falling?
Is your air dam still there ?

Man are those run-on sentences or what?

I would try banging on the cat with a rubber mallot, if you hear some bits rattling off in there, then the cat is more than likely bad. Also, it sounds like your car may need a basic tune-up.

I hear you Mark, but it sound like this car has never been touched before, maintenance wise. If you know what I mean.

Drive it like you stole it.

Kind of looks like a big eggshell after the Y-pipe should also have a small diameter pipe leading into it from the Air Injection system.

Or almost like another muffler right after the y-pipe.

sounds like your tranny is slipping, have you checked the fluid level? These 700r4 auto's are very sensitive to the proper level. As for the hp increase, I hear 10-15hp increase, But that depends on your set-up. I think I would get that tranny looked at first....that would also cause your car to run warm (slipping)

Just a suggestion. But you should probably stop beating on the car (burnouts, break torques, reverse to lows, etc.) until you figure out what's wrong with it. Another reason you maybe over heating is that you just sit there and do burnouts all day and never get any air through the radiator at higher speeds.
If you want the car to last don't beat it. These cars are designed to be driven hard, NOT to be pounded to ****!!!
Or I could be totally wrong?

OK my bad. Sorry, but I have heard a few people this weekend cry about how crappy their car is because it breaks all the time. But when it's not broke all they do is beat it, None stop. So if you are doing burnouts alot and you need help with a problem fine.
But if your doing burnouts all the time and are mad at the car for breaking something then I retract my apology, Sure it's your $ but I hate to hear people bad mouth cars for being junk when they treat them like junk.

I agree, but I've been told several times that power braking isn't bad for a car. :nono:

take your car into have the tranny looked at. you just might need a new torque converter but i would opt for a total rebuild, and a new torque converter with more stall. look for the air dam in front of you car directly under the radiator support. if you don't have one them get one and see if it still gets hot. if not them replace your cat. it loos like a long tiny muffler with a little pipe going into the side. it will be under the car at the fender/door space om the passenger side.

on a stock or close to stock car, powerbraking puts a huge load on the torque converter, and it's also not so good for the other drivetrain components.

Headers, either Hooker or Hedman, about $300 or so. Not sure which but I think one doesn't come with a y-pipe, you'll need one. Get a Catco cat from www.summitracing.com , it's hi-flo and not that expensive.
