No start, please help
No start, please help
I'm begging here, I'm at wits' end.
I recently installed a new steering column, and the car won't start. I've installed a different ignition cylinder, so VATS doesn't match up. I burned a new chip w/o VATS, but it won't start.
The computer kicks out a code 53.
What else should I look for? Could the NSS be bad or disconnected somehow.
PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE help.

I'm sorry for being impatient, but this has been going on for over a week, and I need to get it figured out...
Okay, here's the deal...
Everything works, but no crank. Car is '91 Formula TBI. I replaced steering column and the problem arose (no start, code 53). Then I burned a chip w/o VATS (also tried VATS bypass) but that didn't work.
I've read in previous posts about disconnecting the VATS connector from VATS module and connecting some of those wires, but I can't find out where the module is (i.e. center of dash is too vague--do I have to take the entire dash off, vents off, etc).
I've also read about a starter relay "jumper." I have not been able to figure out from the posts which wires should be either connected or grounded.
So, I'm stuck with two possible solutions that still remain mysterious to me.
Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
MILT
