Yes they can, by angle milling them. But why?
Performance is so lame with these heads compared
to any other available head.
Find a 64 cc head (camel back, vortec, Corvette l98, Dart S/R etc)
and work with that. You won't be sorry.

882's are actually a very overlookd performance head. They respond well to porting, come with either 2.02 or 1.94 valves (so can easily be cut for 2.02s if you have the 1.94's). I can usually get more flow out of them than the l98 heads (check my thread on the tpi board https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=101489) And you already have them, so it'll be cheaper. I dunno if I'd bother milling them though. Get the block deccked to zero deck height, use a flattop piston with no valve and your up to 9.2-9.4 CR. Add a thin head gasket (I think there's one as small as .015 compressed thickness) and it will bump it even more. With that setup your looking at 10:1 with a 350. If your going with a 383 you'll want the large chambers to keep the compression in the reasonable level.
I've ported these well enough to get 265 on the intake and 200 on the exhaust.
