Fuel Pump

Ok when i turn the key on i should hear the fuel pump prime, am i right?

Well i turn the key on and hear nothing, the car has been sitting without start for a couple months due to inner fender being out and no place to hold battery.

My question is, if the fuel pump is bad how difficult is it to change, is it up front or in the tank? I have a 89 formula 305 TPI.

If this is not the problem, suggestions?

Check your fuel pump relay and make sure it's working properly.

fuel pump

if your sure u dont have any fuel pressure.i would check to see if u have power at the three wire connector(located above the differential).if u have power at the the plug than your pump is bad if u dont have power than i would check the fuel pump relay.
now to change the fuel pump.jack the rear of the car, place the stands on the frame not the axle.i cut the exhaust pipe just before it goes around the axle(sawzall does a perfect job),remove the muffler.support the axle and disconnect the lower shock nuts.let the axle hang.remove the muffler shields.disconnect the fuel pump wires ,and fuel lines.now here comes the fun part remove the fuel tank straps.the fuel tank filler neck is going to fight u.keep in mind that the fuel filler neck has a flexable end to it.

Did someone ask where the fuel pump relay is located?

It could also be a fuel pump fuse:
