Help Me With Camshaft Specs
All forged bottom end on a 383. prolly n/a with an lt1 intake and speed density electronics with accell dfi and afr 190 heads. roller cam for sure, what else do you guy need to know? i want power from 2000ish up to the mid to late 5k's. i really dont want a stall but i might have to go that route. i want a nice idle so i still have brakes at an intersection
thanks alot guys, i dont know camshafts at all

Since you'll be running DFI, a decent intake, and don't need the power band to come in till 2000 or so, you can afford to go fairly big cam wise. I forget the grind number, but Comp has a hydraulic roller grind that had a .050 duration of 230in/236ex in a 112LSA. I'd get that or one similar, maybe have it ground on a 114 LSA instead.
Don't underestimate the value of a converter tho, even a fairly low stall Vigilante or Yank can do wonders for a car.

In order to maintain a respectable idlequality and vacuum, you really need to look at a dual pattern cam like the Comp XE series. Comp 07-304-8 (.500/.510 210°/220°-114° LSA) will give you plenty of lift with 1.5:1 rockers and decent idle. Call them and talk about your needs and get their reccomendation.
