ok my car died on me yesterday...lately sometimes it feels like it isnt piulling past 3k rpms and feels like the spark is getting weak...im getting no spark to the plugs now at all...it wasnt the ignition module..coil is new but who knows...what should i do? i got the distributer pickup thing but im gonna have to pull the distributer to put it in and everything...what should i do?? should i buy a voltmeter so i can test the pickup for shorts like the haynes manual says? how would i know if the distributer is bad?!? please help i dont wanna drive the lumina anymore
Sounds like the pick-up coil to me . Im in the same situation as you are right now man . I have new plugs , new wires , new cap and rotor , new coil . Today it died twice on me . I came home took the cap off to take a look at my pick-up coil . My pick-up coil is about to take a crap on me . Tommorrow I will be changing it .If this doesn't work . I will be checking the fuel pressure and changing the fuel filter next . But I really think its my pick-up coil .
If your not getting spark , it sounds like your pick-up coil !
Hope this helps !
Goodluck

Pull off the Coil-to-Cap wire, and crank the enigne. If no spark comes from the coil terminal, then start there and work your way back.

no spark coming from either....the cap coil part or the coil itself....even tried grounding it....nothing
