I notice on my other cars that on the airbag sticker on the sun visor it says to have the airbag checked by the dealership at the 10 years mark and then every other year thereafter. My GTA doesn't say anything about this. It's 10 years ol and I am wondering for safety's sake if I should have the dealer take a look at it at this point.

I read somewhere that the 90-92 3rd gens with airbags have 7 sensors to the system and the airbag will blink 7 times for every sensors it reads when you start your car. the computer runs a diagnostic on them to make sure they are working and connected. start your car and count how many times your airbag light blinks. i have not heard of taking your car to the dealer for an airbad checkup. all they will do is count the blinks and do a visual check of the bag. i wouldnt bother going to the dealer and wasting your money. if you have ever taken your center console off, you will notice an airbad sensor underneath it bolted to the floor of the car. So when you ever get really mad at someone, dont slam your fist into the console and dont slam your hood shut either. you could set off the bag. all airbag wires and sensors are bright yellow in color.
