I have a 350 blcok from like late 70's(non-roller) and then I have th block from my car. I would like to build a motor on a stand then drop it in when its done. but what all will I have to do to get the roller lifters to work? because I was thinking about putting everything in cept the lifters and then just take em outta the old motor. whats your guys opinions? thanks

Josh

You can't use the factory Frankenstein roller setup joke in a block unless the block is specially modified (specifically, 87 up) to accept it.

However, unlike GM's engineering intern's junior project that they actually put into production, the roller setup that the rest of us had been using for decades (since before the intern was even born) will work perfectly in your older block, with no modofication whatsoever of anything at all. It just drops in. You need what is now referred to as a "retrofit" roller system.
