What Are the RULES for RUnning A Fuel System??? ANd what works??

I am building a custom 355 engine and using a modified LT1 intake. Bought the intake on ebay black powdercoated and looking trick. Having it modified courtesy of www.lt1intake.com HE is great at helping people through this mod and has been answering all my questions. With this modification I need more fuel to the engine so I will be modifying my stock 88 tpi camaro fuel system. I checked and the fuel pump is this tiny thing in the gas tank. I was thinking of adding an inline holley unit (or similar) along with a new AFPR leading to a "Y" block feeding into the fuel rails on each side directly. I just don;t know in what order to plumb everything or how to delete the fuel pump in the gas tink (if that is even necessary?) What about duel return lines. I have heard about that but where do the return lines go? These are the prblems I am running into. PLEase Help All you tech Guys! THANKS! Peace

Its not that big of a deal. You can do many things. First of all you don't even need to mess around the fuel plumbing. They make many aftermarket high flow fuel pumps out there that go in the tank just like a stock replacement (the stock pump in good working order should be able to feed a lot of horsepower anyway). Second, get some bigger injectors. Something along the order of 26lbs/hr injectors should be fine and allow room for further mods. Third, you can fiddle around with fuel pressure via a fuel pressure regulator. In the end, however, if you do any of these you will inevitably need to modify your PROM accordingly to take into account for bigger injectors and different fuel pressures.

A stock TPI fuel pump will develop adequate pressure and deliver aadequate flow for a 355 LT1. Heck, it works fine for a 383 LT4, so your engine shouldn't tax it much aat all.

OKAy nice, I'm going to leave the stock fuel pump then and replace all the lines leading up to a 4 port regulator. Two ports will lead to the back of the fuel rails and two will be blocked off until I get my N2O kit. Then the duel return lines will come from the inside front of the fuel rails where I will have NPT connectors welded on and they will connect to a "Y" block leading back to the one stock return line Any problems with this let me know... PEace guys.
