Hard cold starting
Hard cold starting
Hi all. I have a problem with my 89 iroc. It starts right up when warm but takes 4-6 seconds to start when cold. I have good fuel pressure. I had a problem a while back with it not starting at all when hot (wasn't getting fuel) but replaced the fuel pump relay and connector and took care of that problem. Now it's just annoying and I'm afraid I'm wearing parts unnecessarily by it taking so long to start. Any help appreciated, thanks.
4-6 seconds isnt going to hurt anything...starter will see wear after cranking for about 20 seconds because it will get very got inside. have you ever seen a starter with a stuck soleniod its crazy it will sit there and crank and crank then start smoking like a freight train.
